Payment for the REPECHARGE Barista Heat is $250.00 for non members.
However, if you entered any of the State Heats and paid $250 then you have been registered as an AASCA Member until 30 June 2008.
Therefore your entry fee to the REPECHARGE Heat is only $150 and NOT $250

The 2008 Australian Latte Art Championship
Baristas and coffee designers around the country battle it out for the title of the 2008 AASCA Australian Latte Art Champion, the winner of which will be flown to Copenhagen, Denmark to vie for the world title. Having already proved its mastery over milk with the previous two winners of the World Latte Art Championship, Jack Hannah in 2007 and Scottie Callaghan in 2006, coming from our shores, Australia is now looking for a new representative to hold the banner high in 2008.

The 2008 Detpak Australian Barista Championship With the new year comes a new opportunity for the Baristas of the nation to compete for the coveted title of the 2008 AASCA Australian Barista Champion. In it's 8th year running, the Australian Barista Championship (ABC) will be run in conjunction with the Australian Latte Art Championship and the Australian Cupping Championship, held in Melbourne,Victoria, on 2nd - 4th May. Competitors will be up for a swag of great prizes with the winners of all three national championships being flown to represent Australia at the Annual World Barista Championship, hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe, June 2008 held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Regional heats will be hosted in most states and territories, with each state champion winning a place in the national finals.
Open Heats An Open Heats will be held in Melbourne the day before the National Finals and will be open to any Australian Citizen. The winner of the Open Heats will gain entry into the Australian Barista Championship finals the following day. Entry is $250 although competitors who have entered their 2008 state championship previously will be granted entry at $150. Please submit a second application form if you have already competed in your state championship and wish to compete in the open heats.
**Technical note: State heats will be conducted on 2 x 2 Group La Marzocco FB80 espresso machines with the Australian Barista Championship being held on 3 x 3 group La Marzocco FB80 espresso machines, courtesy of La Marzocco and Espresso Equipment Specialists. Compak K10 grinders will also be made available to all competitors at these events, courtesy of Diamond C Services, although applicants may bring their own grinder after confirming with the juding committe.
