The Australian representative for the World Barista Championship (2006) to be held in Berne, Switzerland in May 19th-21st, will again be chosen and sponsored by AASCA following State and National Championships.

The competition is open to all baristas.  

The National Championship will select a barista to represent Australia at the World Barista Championships 2006.
~ Using the international standards and rules set by the World Barista Committee (WBC2006), and the scrutiny of accredited judges, the top barista of this competition will be selected to represent Australia at the World Barista Championship in Berne, Switzerland on May 19-21 2006.  
~ Our national barista will compete against 40 other countries.

PRIZES
State champions will receive free entry in the national championship, including travel to Sydney.

Our Australian National Barista Champion will win travel and accomomodation to the World Championships in Berne,
as well as a Giotto Premium espresso machine from our national machine sponsor ECM Australia.

ECM

PRACTICE
~ Practice sessions on the ECM espresso machines are available in the lead up to the Open heat, and the National Final.
~ Sessions are available at 9:00am, 12:00pm & 3:00pm on Tuesday 18th thru Thursday 20th (Friday 21st is booked out).
~ You will need to supply everything except the espresso machine.
~ The space must be left as you found it, and as clean as you would leave the competition space after the Championship.

APPLICATIONS
Applications are now closed.  
Applications should be submitted
as soon as possible to ensure that adequate arrangements can be made for all interested competitors, but in any case 8 days before each competition (except WA entrants for the Open following the WA final).  
Please download and submit the Application form.  

FEES
Entry fee is $200 for each competition.  
For competitors entering the Open Heat who have already competed in a State final, the open entry fee is $100.

Please note that application and receipt of payment must occur before the competition.   No form, No pay: No compete.
