Accredited Coffee Judges

Australia is home to an experienced and passionate pool of AASCA and World Barista Championship Accredited Judges. These professionals from various arms of the coffee industry generously donate their time, money and energy to fly themselves around the country as an important component of the Australian Barista Championships.

Becoming an AASCA Accredited Judge is not only a great way to encourage the growth of specialty coffee and the skills of the Barista around Australia - it's also a unique networking and skill building opportunity. Throughout the accreditation and judging process, you are exposed to discussion and demonstrations of the world's leading barista practices and gain experience in structured assessment of both sensory and technical aspects.

Judge Accreditation for the 2008 Australian Barista Championship will be arranged in conjunction with each State event.  If you are interested in participating in the Championships as a judge or would like further information, please email Emily Oak of the Juding and Rules Committee at judges@aasca.com.

The basis for maintaining judging accreditation relies on both an annual refresher and on active judging throughout the year.  The outline of the framework is available for download.
